What to do if you or your client wants to delete their information
To give your client greater control over their information, we store their data locally on their device. This helps to reduce the amount of data in transit - it's sent to us for processing all at once when all tasks have been completed.
Types of data
Initiation data | The data you input on the portal when setting up a check. |
Report data | The data produced by Thirdfort in the form of our ID report. |
Consumer data | Any data that your client enters into the Thirdfort app. |
How your client can delete their data
Your client can request a data deletion at any time from within the app. This request is irreversible - once your client has requested for their data to be deleted they will not be able to access their account again, and any information uploaded to their check will be lost.
To request a data deletion your client should click the 'Delete my data' button found within the app. Once they have clicked the button we delete their data immediately and it will delete all consumer data associated with the number. Any third parties involved in processing this data will also delete it within 30 days in line with GDPR.
If your client has already uninstalled the app, they will need to re-download it and enter their mobile number. Although they won't be able to log in, they will see a "delete data" button at the bottom of the screen after trying.
Please note we cannot action a client’s data deletion request if you have Ongoing Monitoring enabled. This will need to be turned off first.
A data deletion request from you
As you are the Data controller of all initiation and report data, we must receive a written data deletion request from you in order for us to remove this data from our platform. If your client would like us to remove the report from our system, we would need to request confirmation from you before actioning this.
On receipt of your request or confirmation, all initiation and report data is removed from our platform within 30 days. This includes the client’s name and mobile number (initiation data), and all information used to generate the report including their date of birth and home address (report data). The report will be permanently deleted and unavailable to download or recover.
