TLDR: The Credit China Bureau stopped publicly publishing screening results after July 19, 2024, so matches added after this date won't appear in reports, though earlier matches remain visible. Screening uses fuzzy matching based on name and birth year, and ID numbers can help verify matches.
The Credit China Bureau
As of the 19th of July 2024, the Credit China Bureau is no longer publicly publishing its screening result information. As a result we will not surface matches added after July 19th 2024. However, matches added before this date will still appear in our reports. More information on the Credit China Bureau can be found here.
Investigating screening matches for the Credit China Bureau
One way these results can be further investigated is by using the ID number. On each China Credit Bureau match, Thirdfort provides the first six and last digits of the ID number of the matched result. If you can obtain your client's national ID number, this can be cross-referenced with the potential match.
Our screening check utilises a 'fuzzy matching' process to search for potential screening matches, which considers a combination of the client's name and year of birth rather than relying on a single factor. This approach helps account for any incorrect entries or variations in name spelling. Consequently, it may return results that do not precisely match your client, especially if the name is common.
