TLDR: The Thirdfort Client Due Diligence platform allows admin users to configure organisations, brands, and teams. Organisations represent the company and can be single or multi-brand, with brands visible to end users. Teams are groups within brands, with assigned product permissions. Users can belong to multiple teams but only access their team's checks. Changes to structure require contacting support.
Organisations, Brands & Teams
You can configure the Thirdfort Client Due Diligence platform based on the structure of your organisation. This configurability allows admin users to easily manage teams and user product access levels, roles and permissions from the organisation settings page.
Organisations
An organisation is the top-level structure that contains all your business operations within the Thirdfort platform. It serves as the umbrella under which you can manage brands, teams, access levels, and assign specific roles and permissions to individual users. This is likely to be your company's legal name.
Brands
A brand is what the end user (the individual completing verification) will see when interacting with Thirdfort, for example, in the text message sent to invite a user to complete a check. This is likely to be your trading name(s).
When creating an organisation, you can choose between two structure types: Single or multi-brand. Single-brand structures include only one brand, while multi-brand organisations can have an unlimited number of brands included within them.
Single Brand Structures
A single brand structure is ideal for:
- Businesses with one primary brand, for example, an independent firm or with a single location.
- Businesses that don't need to separate business units.
Multi-Brand Structures
A multi-brand structure is ideal for:
- Businesses operating with defined sub-organisations.
- Businesses that include separate business units or subsidiaries, for example, a firm with a head office and multiple locations.
- Businesses that wish to maintain distinct branding and workflows for sub-organisations.
An organisation can be switched from a single brand to a multi-brand structure as required. If you need to make changes to your organisational structure, contact our support team using the live chat option from our help centre or portal.
Teams
Teams are groups of users within a brand. Each team has its own name, for example, a Law firm might include a “Residential Conveyancing” team and “Commercial Conveyancing team” under the same brand.
At the team level, admins can assign product permissions, controlling which teams have access to which Thirdfort products.
Individual users can be included in multiple teams. Individual users can only see the checks related to their own team.
