TLDR: The database address matching service electronically verifies UK and international client addresses during Enhanced NFC ID, Original ID, and Lite Screening checks using Experian data. A minimum of two quality matches is required. If no match is found, clients are prompted to upload proof of address or further due diligence is needed, depending on the check type.
Database Address Matching
An electronic database address check is carried out as standard when you initiate our Enhanced NFC ID, Original ID, and Lite Screening checks on any UK resident. If your client resides overseas, we can carry out an electronic address match subject to the applicable jurisdictions. In order to initiate an international address check, please select the 'International Address Verification' option at check initiation.
How does database address matching work?
Your client enters their name, date of birth, and current residential address at the start of the ID check journey (or in the case of the Lite Screening, when you initiate the check). We check all of the data sources listed to electronically verify the address of a client. A minimum of two matches is required, and they must be of sufficient data quality. To offer this service, we partner with Experian to use their ‘bank-grade’ offering for our settings and match criteria.
What if an address match cannot be made?
If your client's information does not return a match ,we will automatically prompt them to upload a proof of address document for you to review in line with your firm's policy. You can find more information on this here: What is the Proof of Address task?
If a Lite Screening check was initiated, we prompt you to carry out further due diligence on the client in question. You'll need to verify the client's address using an alternative means in line with your own compliance policies.
