TLDR: AML screening on the Thirdfort platform involves entering client details, which are sent via API to Comply Advantage. This provider uses AI and machine learning to search global, frequently updated data sources for potential matches. Data is refreshed every few minutes, with 24/7 monitoring of sanctions lists. This guide is for Thirdfort clients on the new CDD platform.
How does AML screening work?
When you initiate a Lite screening or Know-your-business report, you'll enter your client or counterparty's details into the Thirdfort platform. Depending on the check type, these details may include the company name or registration number, the individual's name, date of birth, and residential address.
For Enhanced NFC ID and Original ID, we use the details provided by your client to screen them. The details will then be used to run the relevant searches and surface any potential matches.
What providers do we work with?
We work with Comply Advantage, a provider that uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to both gather and deliver data.
How are these checks processed?
Client details are sent by Thirdfort via API directly to ComplyAdvantage. Here, they are searched across global data sources to identify and return potential matches.
Which data sources are used?
Our system draws data from a multitude of sources. These sources are constantly subject to updates and changes. You can read more about the sources we use here. For a recent listing of the range of sources used on Thirdfort, contact your Account Executive.
How frequently are these data sources refreshed?
The majority of sources we use are updated every few minutes. The screening teams responsible for these updates operate 24/7, while many sanctions updates are captured automatically by digital monitoring of sanctions lists.
