TLDR: The article explains how screening matches are categorized by relevance in Thirdfort's CDD platform. High relevance matches occur with two or more exact or fuzzy data point matches like name, birth year, or country. Medium relevance matches involve two or more partial matches, including AKA names, approximate birth years, phonetic or equivalent names, or country. All other matches are classified as low relevance. This guide is for clients using Thirdfort's new CDD platform.
Screening Match Categories
To make it easier for you to review potential screening matches, we automatically categorise the matches we’ve found by their relevance. Potential matches are assigned either high, medium or low relevance and grouped visually in our web portal.
What is a high relevance match?
A high relevance match occurs when two or more data points match between the screening flag and the search criteria. These details may come from you (for Lite screening and Know your business) or from your client (for app-based checks). We’re looking for matches in:
- An exact name or a fuzzy name match (you can find more information on fuzzy matching here).
- Year of birth.
- Country extracted from the input address, for example, the residential address provided by your client, compared to the country associated with the match.
What is a medium relevance match?
A medium relevance match occurs when we have not identified a high relevance match, but two or more of the following attributes match with the details provided:
- An exact match of an AKA name, which is where a person may be publicly known by an alternative name. This will also include a fuzzy match on the AKA.
- Where the year of birth provided is +/- 1 year to the match.
- A phonetic name match, for example, Ashley and Ashleigh.
- Equivalent name, for example, “William” would be treated as an equivalent name to “Bill.”
- Country extracted from the input address, for example the residential address provided by your client, compared to the country associated with the match.
A match will also be classified as ‘Medium relevance’ if one of the above matches with a high relevance indicator, for example, where we have found an exact name match and the year of birth is +/- 1 year.
What is a low relevance match?
Any other match found will be categorised as a low relevance match.
