TLDR: The new CCJ & Insolvency check on the CDD platform provides either a CLEAR or CONSIDER outcome, indicating no adverse records or some findings for review. A CONSIDER result prompts firms to apply risk-based judgment in accordance with their compliance policy. Flags do not automatically indicate high risk; firms should assess the relevance of historic or active CCJs and consult compliance officers if unsure. This guide is for Thirdfort clients using the new CDD platform.
Reviewing CCJ & Insolvency reports on CDD
A new CCJ & Insolvency check section appears on the check details page on the CDD platform and on the PDF report, alongside the address match. It returns one of two outcomes:
| Recommendation | Meaning |
| CLEAR | No adverse public information records were found against your client. |
| CONSIDER | One or more records were found. The specific findings are listed beneath the recommendation for review. |
What should I do if my client flags on the CCJ & Insolvency check?
A flag here doesn't necessarily mean your client is high-risk. Satisfied historic CCJs, for example, may be far less material than recent or active ones. As with any flag on a Thirdfort report, the result is for your firm to review and decide whether further due diligence is required before proceeding, in line with your internal policy. If you're ever unsure how to proceed, please speak to your compliance officer for guidance.
Can I re-run the check to get a different result?
No. The result is based on the data Experian holds against your client at the point the check is run, and re-running the check will return the same data.
If your client believes the records held against them are incorrect, they will need to contact Experian directly to have the underlying data updated. Experian will only discuss someone's records with the account holder themselves.
